It's official...

Emma has strep throat and is on 10 days of meds. We are on day three of bed rest and I am a tad stir crazy. On the stitching front we are making great progress.
Emma is learning to stitch on linen. She has taken over my third " A Very Merry Spring" She is liking it so far and at least is keeping her mind busy--- if I have to watch one more "Say Yes to The Dress" or anything on the Slice network I may have to poke an eye out.... she is a complete junkie when it comes to TLC or Slice-Here are my two "A Very Merry Spring", the photographer(me) did not do the yellow justice it is very striking in person. Emma finished her Christmas Box. It looks great we are heading to the store to get gold thread and beads to finish it off.here's a second shot of  the finishes... I'm going to work on Betty Boo today. That's all for now:)

What "we" are working on...

Well today is a sick day... yuck ! Emma and I are on day two of movies, fever and stitching. Here are some pictures I thought I would share...
this is the project Emma is working on. It's a little Christmas ornament. It's a set of three called  "Christmas Box Ornaments"
Here's the progress on "Betty Boo" it is coming along slowly
I started "A Very Merry Spring " Sunday night and it is a fast stitch. The picture is not the best but I blame my unsteady hand sorry...
This beautiful finish is not mine. My friend Herbie stitched it for me. I had the pattern in my stash and shared it with her. It was a wonderful surprise that she gave it to me! I am a very lucky girl. Lesia the talented framer of the group framed it up and it's perfect! That's all for now :)

Kelly with the chicken pox...

When Maggie was fourish she came down the chicken pox. Her wonderful Auntie Neenie (who I have had known since conception as she is my twin sister) was here visiting for the weekend ,she came with me to the clinic to confirm the pox. After confirmation Auntie Neenie went out and bought Mags a Kelli Barbie that when wet came out in chicken pox. Mags made up a song - it went like this- Kelli with the chicken pox all sick in bed she's really really really sick she's sick sick sick sick sick...

I share this not because any of us have chicken pox but the silly song is running through my head. Emma and I are sick. I attempted to work today and now am taking and extra day this week to get rid of it. Emma and I are watching "Julie and Julia" and stitching. It's all good. I am just working on "A Very Merry Spring". I like the one colour wonders they go quickly and I don't have to think too much. I will post a picture tomorrow

Thanks Mags...

For those of you who don't know I have three kids Maggie who is 14 - she is our techno geek. I had a big black spot on my blog and she fixed it. She also has set up every tv and dvd palyer in the house... what does that say about Phil and I. Maggie's biggest curse is she looks very much like me ... poor child--- she hears it all the time---Ben is 8 he is the video gamer,he has more game systems and games then any child should have --- again what does that say about me ( I love video games...) Emma is 12  she  is our actress and well... more about her later... All three are fabulous people - we are lucky to be their parents...  YES I HAVE PUT THAT IN WRITING....

On the stitching front here are a few pictures... This is a project Emma did of our borders Oscar and Felix--- my friend Lesia framed it. So cute... and my biscornu for the exchange which I will mail Tuesday. That's all for now.. :)

Wow ! What a day...

I was in a meeting at work all day today so I'm running a little on empty... Emma has won second prize in a poetry contest and I will post more details when I know what is going on for sure...

On the stitching front I finished the biscornu and have stitched it up. I will post a picture tomorrow along with another finish! Woot! Woot!

I've been watching a lot of "Bones" of late - one of my favourites... very cool.

As I said earlier it's been a day so I am off to bed ;0)

I am an idiot...here's why...

I have gotten back into the swing of things and even went snowboarding with Emma on Wednesday--- there was my first mistake. I managed to sprain my thumb crawling (yes crawling ) out of the trees- I can at least say I sprained my thumb in an epic snowboard experience. One of my partners suggested it was a bad a$$ way to injure myself. The sprain is on my right hand and yesterday I discovered it is not easy to be a barista with a sprained thumb LOL... I stitched with the angel ladies last night and we had a good chuckle about it.

kinda yucky right thumb..
left knucle...
Flash forward to this am. I was dragging my butt a bit- you would think with the legally addictive stimulant I sell I would be able  to hook myself up a really strong cup of coffee but instead  I managed to slam my left hand into the corner of a cupboard and dislocated it.I am awesome- the dr popped it back in and said it will take a bit for it to feel better...man... anyway here is the lastest updates on my needlework. The biscornu just needs to be sewn together and Betty Boo is coming along. The dr says to get blood flowing to the area and that needlework is probably a good way to keep it moving so I guess I will have to stitch this weekend- rough eh? LOL

Treats in the mail...

I got a phone call at work from Miss Emma telling a package came for me. Woot! I got Thirteen Owls from Plum Street and a ghostly swatch I ordered off of ebay. Yippee. Phil has agreed to chinese tonight as I am WIPED OUT from work and all that. There just is no easing into it that's for sure. On the stitching front I am almost finished the biscornu for the exchange and am going to kit up the Owls for the weekend. Gotta run food is here ---Life is good !

This is my purse/waiting for various offspring's appointments and practises to be done project. It is coming along slowly but surely. It stitches fast but I don't seem to have much time to pick it up
Here's CC's Halloween Apron- not much progress here but I figure by Halloween I should be able to make it a pillow or something.

We are off to Big White today for 5 nights and CAN NOT WAIT ! Our dear friend Todd is coming to look after the borders and house. The kids are super excited now if I could only get Ben out of bed to pack hmmmm
